Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 2 (ANI): Hitting out at BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya over his “Unki daal bahut patli hai” remark, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday said that if he has the strength then he should contest the elections without EVM.
Digvijaya Singh said “He (Kailash Vijayvargiya) does not have a strong position. If he has the strength, then he should contest the elections without EVM.”
“Our “Vada Nibhao Yatra” will run for three days in every Legislative Assembly. We are doing this yatra on 3 points – the price of wheat at Rs 2700 per quintal, Rs 3,000 for every ladli behna and gas cylinder at 450 rupees,” Digvijaya added.
When asked about Singh’s remark, Vijayvargiya told ANI in Chhindwara , “Digvijaya Singh should first save his Rajgarh seat… Unki daal bahut patli hai (He does not have a strong position) and thus wants to garner sympathy from people by travelling on foot wearing a dhoti and kurta in his constituency.”
Digvijaya Singh had recently said that he was working to get 400 people to file nominations from his constituency so that polling could be conducted through the ballot paper.
Singh also gave details on the security deposit that has to be deposited by candidates who are willing to contest.
“Those who are not from the reserved category have to deposit Rs 25,000 as security and those from SC/ST categories have to deposit Rs 12,500. This will lead to having one seat in the country where elections will be held through ballot paper,” Singh said.
Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to be held in the first four phases of the total seven phases dated April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13. The election will be held in Rajgarh in the third phase on May 7 along with seven other parliamentary seats in the state. (ANI)
