Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 16 (ANI): Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s slogan, “Modi ki guarantee,” former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has asked that if the guarantees of 2014 were not fulfilled, then what is the assurance of these guarantees?
Rawat alleged that PM Modi talks about the poor but his friends are big capitalists.
“PM Modi should tell who was that who had said in 2014 that 15 lakhs will come in every account, who had said that two crore jobs will be given, black money will be eliminated, corruption will be eliminated, and farmers’ income will be doubled. Who knows, he might have been a different Modi. If the guarantees of 2014 were not fulfilled, then what is the assurance of these guarantees? He talks about the poor and his friends are big capitalists,” he said.
The senior Congress leader also claimed that India is also named among the 17 countries where women are unsafe.
“In terms of nutrition, India is also behind Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. The unemployment rate is the highest in India. The government seems to be failing on every front,” Harish Rawat claimed.
He also said that PM Modi did not build the Ram Temple, but the decision of the Supreme Court paved the way to build it.
“Narendra Modi did not build the Ram temple; the path to build the Ram temple was paved by the decision of the Supreme Court. PM Modi only did the work of marketing the Ram temple. The people of the BJP are so proud that after a few days, they will say that Modi ji also brought Ram,” he said.
On being asked about the resolution of Viksit Bharat, Harish Rawat said that PM Modi is telling people not to look at their stomachs, not to look at unemployment, not to look at the development of their homes and villages, but to look only at 2047.
The Lok Sabha elections for all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand are scheduled to take place in a single phase on April 19 and to increase voter turnout in the hill state, more than 11,000 polling booths are being set up across the state. (ANI)
