MP: Youth booked for making obscene dance video in front of Rani Kamlapati statue in Bhopal – World News Network

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 16 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Police registered a case against an unknown youth for allegedly making an obscene dance video in front of the statue of Rani Kamlapati in the state capital Bhopal, a police officer said on Monday.
The youth shot the dance video in front of the statue located near Kamla Park, Lower Lake (Chhota Talab) in the city. Later, after the video went viral on social media, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) in Lok Sabha from Bhopal constituency, Alok Sharma submitted a memorandum to the police demanding action against the youth.
Bhopal Commissioner of Police (CP) Harinarayanachari Mishra told ANI, “Rani Kamlapati has a very respectable place in the glorious history of Bhopal and a video of an unknown youth performing an obscene dance in front of her statue has come to light. MP Alok Sharma has submitted a memorandum into the matter demanding strict action against the youth.”
MP Alok Sharma said, “Yesterday, the Queen of Bhopal was insulted by an unknown youth by performing an obscene dance in front of the statue of Rani Kamlapati Ji situated at Chhota Talab. Today, a memorandum was given to Police Commissioner Hari Narayanchari Mishra demanding NSA action against the culprit.”
Acting on it, the police registered a case under section 296 (Obscene acts and songs) of Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), 2023 in to the matter. A suspected youth is also being interrogated and the situation will become clear in a few hours. Strict action will be taken into the matter, he added. (ANI)
