New Delhi [India], August 1 (ANI): Union Education Minister and BJP MP from Sambalpur, Dharmendra Pradhan, on Thursday greeted everyone on the occasion of ‘Sambalpuri Din’ (Sambalpuri Day). He also paid tribute to the famous Sambalpuri literature scholar Satya Narayan Bohidar on his birth anniversary.
He said that the scholar’s dedication and sacrifices in enhancing the dignity of Sambalpuri language, culture and literature will always be remembered.
Taking to the social media platform X, he said, “Tribute to late guru Shri Satyanarayan Bohidar, a famous Sambalpuri literature scholar, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.”
In another video released by Dharmendra Pradhan on his social media platform X, he talked about the importance of Sambalpuri culture and appealed to people to take forward this language and culture.
He said, “Today is August 1; today is Sambalpuri Din; greetings to all on this special day.”.
He said that celebrating Sambalpuri Din on the birthday of Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar will spread the Sambalpuri language and culture around the world.
“To celebrate Sambalpuri Din on his birthday will spread the Sambalpuri language and culture around the world,” said the MP from Sambalpur.
He thanked the personalities and different organisations in Odisha for working towards taking Sambalpuri culture forward.
He stated, “Odisha’s leading social reformers, cultural and social organisations, and other people who help spread Sambalpuri culture are welcoming.”.
He then highlighted the work of the BJP government in building the Rangabati Centre of Excellence in IIM Sambalpur.
He said, “Under the leadership of the Narendra Modi government, a centre for excellence was opened at IIM Sambalpur for research on Sambalpur history and culture. This is a moment of joy and pride.”
He further said, “Sambalpuri culture is a culture that keeps us happy by witnessing someone’s happiness.”.
He appealed to celebrate Sambalpuri din and spread Sambalpuri culture.
“Let’s celebrate Sambalpuri din and Sambalpuri Asmita ra din and work together towards taking Sambalpuri language and culture forward. This will be the real tribute to the poet,” he said.
Sambalpuri Din marks the birth anniversary of Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar, whose contributions and dedication to the promotion of the dialect through his books gave the Western Odisha language a specific identity. Bohidar was born today (Aug 1) in 1913 at Sonepur, then undivided Sambalpur. (ANI)
